What is Battle Gold?

Matches start with a limited purse. Killing enemies pays more gold, which pays for more placements or for upgrades. A September 20, 2024 showcase quoted one fully upgraded unit at about 10,500 gold with buffs, so upgrade costs were already large in that era. Grillby was described as a money unit in Snowdin drop footage. Gold is not Souls, and it is not Raid tokens.
